About Goros
Goros is a Japanese bar on Mary Street in Surry Hills, long known as a kitsch late-night dive with arcade games, karaoke and DJs. Operator Solotel relaunched it in October 2026 after a full refurbishment as a Japanese record bar and drinking house, with pine interiors, low lighting, booths and four refreshed private karaoke rooms.
The music is vinyl only, played from a dedicated booth through a custom Martin Audio system: hip hop, jazz, disco, boogie and soul. Tuesdays use the house record collection, Wednesdays feature Sydney record stores and labels, Thursdays have resident takeovers, and Fridays and Saturdays run Selector Sessions. The kitchen serves charcoal yakitori until close.
