The Lansdowne

Chippendale, on the edge of the CBD.

About The Lansdowne

The Lansdowne is a long-running Chippendale pub and live music venue that first opened in the 1930s. Its stage has hosted acts including The Living End, Courtney Barnett and Art vs Science. It closed in 2015 and again in 2022, reopened in 2023, and since 2024 has been leased to Melbourne restaurateur Julian Romero, who added a Mexican food and drink offer.

The four-level building has an upstairs band room and a rooftop, and holds a 5am liquor licence. Touring and local acts still play there in 2026, and the weekly program includes trivia on Tuesdays and Battle of the Bands on Thursdays.
