About The Old Synagogue (Mr Chapple)
The Old Synagogue was built in 1902 as Western Australia's first purpose-built synagogue, though services ended in 1910. It later served as an immigration centre, an auction mart and a run of shops before being converted into a hospitality precinct, which opened at the end of 2019.
There are four venues. The Arbor is a three-level beer and wine garden with a basement dance floor on weekends; Mr Chapple is a cafe by day and a bar later, with a rooftop terrace over the Cappuccino Strip; L'Chaim is a small cocktail bar behind a bookcase; Tonic + Ginger is the restaurant.
