About Universal Bar
Universal Bar has been on William Street since 1993 and bills itself as Northbridge's iconic live music venue. Live acts play from Wednesday to Sunday, mostly cover and party bands working through crowd-pleasing sets, with cocktails, beer and a pub-style food menu.
The room holds about 350. As well as band nights it hosts DJ events, such as a six-hour local DJ showcase in September 2026, and takes function bookings. It is a well-known late stop on the Northbridge strip.
