Chinese Laundry

Beneath the Slip Inn on Sussex Street. Reopened in 2024; get there before midnight.

About Chinese Laundry

A basement electronic music club in the Sydney CBD, entered from Slip Street beneath the Slip Inn. It has two rooms, the Laundry and the Cave, both with Martin Audio sound, and an upstairs garden area for smoking.

The programme leans on the Chinese Laundry Invites series: local crew takeovers, label showcases and touring international DJs. Friday and Saturday are the regular nights. The club has run since 1996, closed for about four years, and reopened in July 2024 under curator Nergal Youkhana of Melbourne's Sub Club.
