About The Austral
The Austral is a heritage corner pub on Rundle Street and Ebenezer Place, built in the 1880s and trading as the Austral since the late 1890s. It has a Victorian facade with a wraparound balcony, a busy front bar, a dining room and sunny outdoor seating, and it advertises itself as pokies-free.
The pub hosts bands, with gigs listed through 2026, and is a long-running Adelaide Fringe venue with several performance rooms. Weekly fixtures include steak night on Tuesdays and bingo, and it trades until 3am on Friday and Saturday.
