About Airlie Beach Hotel
The Airlie Beach Hotel opened in 1968 under Harry Muller, who hired a local band from the start, and live music has been its trademark since. The O'Neill family owned it from 1982 to 2019. After Cyclone Debbie in 2017 it closed for two years and reopened with an open-plan venue called The Pub.
Today it has a bistro and bar, a sports bar with dozens of screens and TAB, a gaming lounge and a bottle shop. Acoustic sessions run Thursday to Sunday, with DJs, tribute acts and touring bands on weekends.
